- Why do you need an architect?
Few people realize how complicated it is to build until they find themselves stuck between building codes, zoning laws, contractors, etc. Every project will vary, so things may not be well defined. The architect will be the one who has the education, training, experience, and vision to guide you through the entire design and construction process. This includes from building what you want to getting the most for your dollar.
- When should you get your architect involved?
Get an architect involved from the very beginning when you decide that you want to build or remodel. It is important to get a head start with government approvals and we can walk you through the complex entitlement process and help you understand what steps you need to take.
- Why should I meet with GPA?
GPA is committed to customer service. Client input is the cornerstone of our design philosophy and we believe in the “team approach” establishing a partnership with our clients to achieve mutual goals. This becomes most important when considering that project length can vary from a few months to working together for two years or more. It is essential to establish the working relationship, goals and expectations at the forefront to help all parties achieve a successful project.
- What is Scope of Services?
Each individual project has a unique set of requirements and objects. Scope of Services outlines the specific services being offered to insure that all parties understand what is being provided and expected.
- What is your Timeframe?
We know your time is valuable, as is ours. We will strive to meet your timeframe goals to the best of our ability. Keep in mind that there should be some flexibility throughout the design and entitlement process as some extra requirements may come up as plans are reviewed by the City for approvals.
- Do you have a team of consultants you work with?
Yes, GPA can provide a variety of engineering and consulting services and works directly with a team of professional consulting engineers, general contractors and real estate professionals.
- Will you provide us with a proposal?
GP Architecture will lay out our fees and services, and the scope of the work down on paper for your review. We will not proceed with any services until it is agreed by all parties.
